Norman's (Freddie Highmore) trial intensifies in episode 9 of "Bates Motel" season 5.

Previously, Norman confessed to Sheriff Jane Greene (Brooke Smith) about his role in the murder of Sam Loomis (Austin Nichols). Back then, he also tried to frame Sam's wife, Madeleine Loomis (Isabelle McNally). However, things started to come together and backfired everything at Norman. This also posed difficulties to Norma (Vera Farmiga), his alter-ego.

Titled "Visiting Hours," the official synopsis for the upcoming episode reveals that the legal problem of Norman worsens.

In the promotional preview of episode 9, the clip shows the court sentencing Norman to "three counts of murder in the first degree." It seems that the court also accuses him of the murder of Jimmy Brennen (Michael Rogers) and Audrey (Karina Logue), aside from Sam. The preview also shows the court telling Norman that if he is found guilty, the maximum penalty is a death sentence.

Aside from this, the summary for the upcoming episode also reveals that Emma (Olivia Cooke) will help fix a family matter as Dylan (Max Thieriot) experiences confusions between his past and future. On the other hand, Romeo (Nestor Carbonell) plans for his revenge. It seems that he does not want to wait for the sentence of the court to decide Norman's fate. Will he take matters into his hands?

The psychological horror and drama television series is down to its last two episodes in its final run. In the spoiler room of Entertainment Weekly, it was revealed that more deaths will be coming in the season finale. On a brighter side, fans will see a lot of air time with all the major players in the final episodes.

The spoiler teases, "Everyone you've come to know and love plays heavily into solving the show's final mystery: What will happen to Norman?"
