'Batman: Arkham Knight' news: New patch update includes big head mode

A new patch for "Batman: Arkham Knight" unlocked a new feature for hardcore players of the game – the big head mode.

The new mode lets gamers roam the streets and rooftops of Gotham City with a blown-up head the size of a melon. However, the new mode is not as easy as just pausing the game and selecting; the new feature must be unlocked.

According to "Batman: Arkham Knight" game director Sefton Hill, the big head mode in-game will be activated once players hold both triggers and make 10 circles using the right analog stick. A video tutorial was posted by Hill on Twitter.

Meanwhile, industry observer Gamerant also reported that the big head mode is not exlusive to Batman. Aside from the Dark Knight, the new mode can also be used with Catwoman and other characters in the game. Basically, the character being used by the player at the moment in-game can be given bigger heads.

Some observers think that the new mode is developer Rocksteady Studios' way to bring life and humor to the otherwise dark and dour story of "Batman: Arkham Knight." In addition, the new mode is a little light-hearted moment for the title, which came under fire when it was first released owing to numerous glitches and bugs that went so bad that the PC version of the game had to be taken down.

Meanwhile, aside from unlocking the big head mode, the new patch that rolled out for "Batman: Arkham Knight" is also a compatibility patch, mainly in preparation for the DLC update that will come on Sept. 29. Aside from improvement and tweaks, the new update will bring GCPD Lockdown, which will see players control Nightwing and try to foil Penguin's escape attempt, and the second Crime Fighter Challenge Pack DLCs.
