It was previously reported that Warner Bros. Pictures recently sat down with Collider and gave a hefty amount of information regarding "Justice League" and some of their other DCEU films such as "Wonder Woman" and "Aquaman." Ben Affleck, on the other hand, has explained what is currently delaying the solo "Batman" movie. 

Speaking to Collider, Affleck confirmed that Warner Bros. Pictures has a desired release date for the film but has not yet made any announcements likely due to the fact that it has not yet begun production.

Affleck did state that he will not begin production until the script is good and ready as he has been on the receiving end of a film that began filming even when the script was not up to standards. The recently released "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and the 2003 film "Daredevil" are some of the most widely known examples.

"I have a script, we're still working on it, and I'm not happy enough with it yet to actually go out there and make a Batman movie, for which I have the highest of standards, I would say," explained Affleck. "That's something that would have to pass a very high bar for me. It's not just like, 'Yeah, that might be fun, let's go try this out.'"

Despite the delay, it is speculated that Warner Bros. Pictures is giving Affleck all the time he needs to make the best "Batman" movie possible since he has already gained high praise and reputation for his previous Academy Award nominations and wins. Affleck is noted for writing "Good Will Hunting" and for directing "Argo."

As stated by Screen Rant, all three of the films Affleck has directed thus far have over a 90 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and his upcoming film "Live By Night" is reportedly going to be an Oscar contender.

While fans still wait for further updates on the solo "Batman" movie, Affleck will reprise his role as Bruce Wayne aka Batman in "Justice League," which opens in theaters on Nov. 17, 2017.
