There's word that Ben Affleck is so good in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" that Warner Bros. allegedly wants him to star in a trilogy based on the Caped Crusader. According to Den of Geek's sources, this decision was made when WB executives and crew watched the secret screening of a portion of the film, which ended with a standing ovation.

"Basically, Warners are now working their movie universe around Ben's Batman," a source told the aforementioned publication, also claiming that the company thinks Affleck as the "definitive Batman." He is also set to direct and star in what was then called a stand-alone "Batman" movie.

There's no confirmation of the trilogy yet but according to Screen Crush, two of Affleck's upcoming films have been pushed back, possibly to give way to the project. While "The Accountant," directed by Gavin O'Connor, was delayed to a release date in favor of it getting an award, "Live by Night," which Affleck directed, is said to have been postponed to give the actor more time to work on a film or two.

The actor-director has already signed on to star in the "Justice League" movies, which are slated for 2017 and 2019. Warner Bros. is reportedly trying to squeeze in a "Batman" flick in 2018. This will serve as the first movie in the trilogy. The two sequels will likely be released in 2020 and 2022.

In other news, Henry Cavill, who plays the Man of Steel, recently discussed the super-charged highly-anticipated DC flick on "Live with Kelly and Michael," although he wasn't too keen on spoiling who will win in the all-out brawl. He did reveal that he almost played James Bond and Superman 10 years ago.

Warner Bros. has yet to confirm the "Batman" trilogy rumors but for now, all eyes are on "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
