There haven't been much news about Lex Luthor in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" — until now. Jesse Eisenberg, the actor who portrays the big baddie, underlined in a recent interview with MTV that the villain isn't some petty character but he'll have mental problems.

"There's an emotional core to the character. It's not a silly villainous character ... it is an entirely different thing," the actor clarified.

He also talked about the feel of the highly-anticipated DC superhero film and expressed how its dark nature impacts his character.

"Like the way we expect movies to be now is to have some kind of — I mean, it's probably for the best — there's some kind of psychological accuracy. That the person is coming from a place probably diagnosable in some way," he explained.

Eisenberg reiterates that Lex Luthor in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" has reasonable motivations for his terrible actions. For this, he thanks "phenomenal" writer Chris Terrio, who gave layers to Luthor's villainous persona other than making him just another "silly" enemy.

"He loves my character in the same way that I love my character," Eisenberg simply stated.

He also added that his rendering of the most dangerously intelligent scientist and industrialist would be "entirely different" from how the villain was portrayed by Gene Hackman in the 1978 "Superman" film.

"The tone of that movie is so different," he said of the movie directed by Richard Donner. "That movie wouldn't be made like that now."

Overall, bald, insane and outlaw are fitting words to describe Luthor in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." It is rumored that the character will be joined by known Superman comic book nemesis Doomsday to serve death to the Kryptonian.

The much-awaited film, which will see the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight square off, will blast into theaters on March 25, 2016.
