Will "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" be able to deliver on its lofty expectations?

That's the question on the minds not just of fans but also on those involved in making and financing the movie.

"Batman v Superman" is in many ways a mystery to many, and that's one of the reasons behind why its success cannot be set in stone.

For as accomplished of an actor as Ben Affleck is and as promising as both Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot are, the three have yet to share the screen together, and their chemistry could go a long way toward determining how big of a hit the film can ultimately become.

Warner Bros. is still betting that those three will be able to form the kind of onscreen chemistry that lays the foundation for future success. Franchises are the big thing in Hollywood now, according to Cinema Blend, and if "Batman v Superman" delivers, then it's easier to justify a second, third, or how many films the studio eventually decides to release. If it flops, then Warner Bros. will have to scramble, deciding whether to reboot or let go of the potentially lucrative franchise.

For now at least, there's reason to believe the upcoming film has a solid chance to succeed.

According to the research firm ListenFirst and as reported on by the Wall Street Journal, the most recent trailer of "Batman v Superman" proved to be a massive hit, at least in terms of generating buzz on Twitter.

The DC film even managed to exceed the Twitter chatter generated earlier on by its Marvel rival "Captain America: Civil War." That report has to give Warner Bros. a little bit of relief and some semblance of hope that the upcoming film won't be a disaster. Twitter buzz is far from a definitive measure of success, but it's probably a good thing for "Batman v Superman" that many folks are talking about it.
