The recent leak of the trailer for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" got everyone talking. In a lot of ways, it helped promote the movie, but diehard Batman and Superman fans didn't find the leaked trailer and official trailer satisfying enough. They had to see it on IMAX to appreciate it more. 

But before spoiling the surprise on the IMAX trailer viewing, MTV had a very short chat with Superman actor Henry Cavill, who cleared the air about "Dawn of Justice" being a sequel to "Man of Steel."

"I wouldn't call this a Superman sequel. This is Batman versus Superman. It's a separate entity altogether. It's introducing the Batman character and expanding upon the universe, which was kicked off by 'Man of Steel,'" he said. "Everything could change in the editing room, but as it stands, it's an introduction of the character. And ultimately, the introduction of Justice League." 

While making that clear, fans were lining up for the IMAX trailer event at Georgetown Theater in Washington, D.C. Fans who saw the trailer released online also came to see the trailer on the big screen. Director Zach Snyder was there and gave everyone a surprise unseen footage. 

In the footage, reports Washington Post, Superman is underground following someone in an armored suit, who is, of course, none other than the Caped Crusader. They see each other and run toward each other for a massive collision that segues into the "V" in the movie title. 

Elsewhere, "Avengers: Age of Ultron" director Joss Whedon shares his excitement about the movie.

"I found [the trailer for 'Batman v Superman'] interesting. Because they're bringing up a lot of issues that we bring up in 'Age of Ultron' and I think it's inevitable," he told Yahoo! Movies. 

He further explained, "People with power, who are good, do not always agree and it makes perfect sense for me that [Batman and Superman] would fight. And besides ... Batman and Superman are gonna fight! I'm so excited! I'm so excited!" 

Chris Evans (Captain America) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) also shared their thoughts on the upcoming Warner Bros. movie. 

"How does anyone fight Superman?" Evans quipped.

"I know, that's what I don't get. What are you going to do with a Bat-belt?" Renner replied. 

"I feel like [Superman] would bulldoze our whole squad, they really wrote him unfairly. It's not fair, he's got too much," Evans jokingly said.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" hits theaters in May 2016, the same time as Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War."
