It is already expected that "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will dominate the box office when it comes out but now, it appears that it will rake in all the profits with no opposition. According to a report from Forbes, Eddie Murphy's "Beverly Hills IV" has been delayed indefinitely, leaving the DC Comics flick unopposed during its March 25, 2016 release date.

The Forbes report states that this is perhaps one of the few times that a big blockbuster movie will go completely unopposed. Movies tend to stick with a "counter-programming" schedule that allows viewers of different demographics to enjoy something at the theaters.

A blockbuster like "Avengers: Age of Ultron" opened against the R-rated comedy "Welcome to Me." Last year's science-fiction epic "Edge of Tomorrow" opened against the romantic-drama movie "The Fault in Our Stars." This type of scheduling gives moviegoers who don't watch big blockbusters something else to enjoy.

The report from Forbes cites older examples such as when the 1989 "Batman" movie opened against the comedy film "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" and when "Home Alone 2" opened against the drama biopic "Malcom X."

"Batman v Superman" was originally scheduled for release on July 17, 2015 but this was moved to May 26 in order for the team to improve on the project. It was later re-scheduled to its current release date of March 25 next year in order to avoid direct competition with another comic book movie, "Captain America: Civil War."

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, and Jessie Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. They will be joined by Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher, and Jason Momoa as Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and Aquaman, respectively.

The film is a follow-up to "Man of Steel" but is not considered as a sequel as Warner Bros. reportedly has plans for a "Man of Steel 2" somewhere down their release pipeline. "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will pit the Kryptonian superhero against the Caped Crusader as well as depict the beginnings of the Justice League.
