One of the better sequences in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" was a scene where Bruce Wayne aka Batman (Ben Affleck) dreamed of a post-apocalyptic world being controlled by an evil Superman (Henry Cavill), possibly under the rule of Darkseid. According to a recent report, however, it turns out this was not just a dream.

According to a report from Screen Rant, "Batman v Superman" storyboard artist Jay Oliva reveals his interpretation of the event, stating that it is not a dream but a future memory. Oliva points out that in the scene before the "Knightmare" sequence occurs, Bruce Wayne is never shown falling asleep but is simply waiting for the LexCorp files to decrypt.

Oliva continues to explain that while Bruce is waiting, The Flash (Ezra Miller) is travelling to the past from a future where Superman and Darkseid have taken over the world. As he does this, time is slightly altered with what is referred to as a "Time Boom," causing present-day Bruce to get memories or visions of what's yet to come.

Another sign that Bruce is not dreaming but is instead receiving future memories is the fact that the papers scatter about when he encounters the Flash, which could not happen if it was all just a vision in his head.

In a report from Cinema Blend, it is stated that this means future films may dabble with the "Flashpoint Paradox" storyline from the DC comics where the Flash, Batman and Cyborg struggle to restore time to its original state or lead up to the "Injustice: Gods Among Us" storyline where Lois Lane (Amy Adams) dies, forcing Superman to destroy the world and become a soldier of Darkseid. 

It is also pointed out that Oliva's interpretation is not official, as director Zack Snyder may have something else planned for future DCEU films, but Oliva's opinion is given a lot of credit given that he is also the director of several DC animated projects, including "Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox."
