The San Diego Comic-Con 2015 trailer for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" gave away a lot of interesting shots and reveals, but one thing that fans noticed was the vandalized Robin costume in the Batcave. This indicates that the Joker might have killed Robin before the film's events, and a new report speculates on who might be playing as Batman's sidekick.

According to a report from Heroic Hollywood, Eli Snyder, the son of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" director Zack Snyder, is allegedly going to play the role of Robin during some flahback sequences that may reveal how he died, which is most likely going to be in the hands of the Joker (Jared Leto).

Eli was reportedly seen on set and, to fuel more fire to the flames, the still photographer for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," Clay Ennos, posted a photo via Twitter showcasing Zack and Eli together with the captions "Boy Wonder?" written below. Boy Wonder is a nickname referring to Robin.

It isn't like Eli hasn't done work in films before. He portrayed a young King Leonidas in "300" and a young Rorschach in "Watchmen." He also had a small cameo role in "Sucker Punch." All three films were directed by his father.

According to the report, Eli stands 6 feet tall and played as a starting quarterback for the Maranatha High Varisty Football team. He is currently set to attend UCLA where he will undertake a course in film.

If he is indeed playing Robin, then it is likely that his Robin will be Jason Todd, the second person to don the costume. Jason was later killed by the Joker but was later revealed to be alive and insane. In the comic books, Jason Todd returned to Gotham several years later, now known as the Red Hood, and fought a war against both the Joker and Batman.

The report from Heroic Hollywood still points out that this just a rumor at this point but the photo from Clay Ennos seems to indicate there is some truth to the speculations.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" opens in theaters on March  25, 2016.
