'Batman v Superman' movie rumors: Jared Leto's Joker image is not final; Joker will cameo

Director David Ayer recently released the first look at Jared Leto as the Joker via Twitter and it coincided with the character's seventy-fifth anniversary. This rendition of the Joker sported numerous self-referential tattoos and teeth grills but an exclusive report from JoBlo indicates that this may not be the final look viewers will see in the films.

JoBlo's sources cite that the tattooed look is not what is seen on set. According to the report, the image Ayer released is missing several scars and the grilled teeth appear to be last-minute additions for no reason. The scars are reportedly important because they indicate the character's past encounters with the Batman, played by Ben Affleck.

The site continues to explain that the actual look of the Joker will have scars running down his back and arms while his skin is supposed to be much whiter than what was shown in the image. It is possible that the tattoos were simply added to cover up the scars and to pay homage to the character's rich seventy-five year history.

Another report from the Latino Review hints that the Joker will not just be making a significant appearance in "Suicide Squad" but will also appear in a flashback sequence in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

According to the report, this flashback sequence may show how the Joker killed Jason Todd, the second Robin. It was this act that distanced Harley Quinn from the Joker and put Batman into retirement for several years until he would finally re-surface to battle Superman in "Batman v Superman."

The Joker's role in "Suicide Squad" remains to be a secret but rumors suggest that Amanda Waller and the Suicide Squad would turn to the Joker for help in apprehending Batman. It is possible that the Joker may break free from prison at some point, leading to the events of a solo Batman film in the future.
