The closed technical test for "Battleborn" now has an official start date.

Fans and players who are looking to try out the new shooter from 2K Games and Gearbox Software can now mark down Oct. 29 on their calendars as the date when the test officially begins.

The test will be conducted on multiple platforms, including the Windows PC, PlayStation 4 (PS4) and the Xbox One, according to Polygon.

The game's developer has stated its goals for holding the closed technical test. According to the developer, they hope that the test will provide them with enough information that they can use for the purposes of improving gameplay through tweaking the characters and finding and destroying the bugs, while also figuring out just how the game's servers will cope with the demand thrust upon them.

Fans who want to take part in the closed technical test for "Battleborn" can head on over to the game's official website to register. It should be noted that simply registering will not guarantee a fan entry into the closed technical test, as the folks behind the game will be selecting participants based upon predetermined criteria. 

Hopeful participants in the closed technical test for "Battleborn" are also expected to abide by the non-disclosure agreement. This means that participants will be restricted in terms of sharing any kind of information regarding the game, whether it's in the form of images, videos, or even simple descriptions of the game that may be posted online, according to Gamespot.

Players who may not be able to participate in the closed technical test for "Battleborn" can still aim for the open beta coming at a later date, although when that will take place has not been announced. 

The highly anticipated "Battleborn" will be officially released on Feb. 9, 2016 on the same platforms that will also be hosting the closed technical test.
