'Battlefield 1' DLC map news, release: Prise de Tahure map to launch on CTE

EA DICE has big plans in store for its first-person shooter video game "Battlefield 1." The developers have announced a new map called Prise de Tahure coming to "Battlefield 1."

The new map, Prise de Tahure, portrays the battle between the French and the Germans after the Nivelle Offensive. The former was defending the Butte-de-Tahure hills from the latter's invading forces. The clash happened on April to May of 1917.

"The frontline trench networks cut right through several villages facing obliteration from the constant skirmishing between German stormtroopers and French raiders," DICE says in a statement. "This is a war of attrition. Adaptability and tactics are the means to wear your adversary down."

The map will be launched soon for testing on the Community Test Environment (CTE). The group is composed of select members of "Battlefield 1" PC gamers.

According to DICE, more maps will eventually be launched. This June, "Battlefield 1" Premium Pass owners will be able to access the night map called Nivelle Nights. The map is set in the muddy battlefield of Malmaison and Soupir.

In addition, DICE is expected to launch the "Battlefield 1" DLC titled In the Name of the Tsar in the spring of this year. The Russian Twitter account of the franchise sent out a tweet recently, asking fans if they want to test the silenced 1911 pistol when the Nivelle Nights map DLC launches.

Silenced guns, such as the 1911 pistol, do not come as a surprise to fans since the developers have been playing around with a few in the past, such as the silenced M1903 and the C93.

Within the month, DICE will launch updates to improve the title's gameplay. Players can expect to have playlists for the mode, as well as easy access to the game.

The May update should arrive soon.
