Ahead of its intended release date, which will be happening in a few days, DICE has now released brand new details for the weekly challenges that will be held for the company's new game, "Battlefield 1."

The challenges will apparently allow players to earn "Medals" in order to get additional XP bonuses.

According to the recently posted announcement from the game's developer, players of their highly anticipated military shooter video game will be able to get multiple chances to earn as many medals as they can within a 7-day period. Each week the challenges will then reset, with most of the challenges being rotated and changed.

The weekly promotion will allow players to earn as many as 34 medals in total. Each medal can be obtained over and over again up to 100 times, allowing players to stack up on the XP bonus gained for each medal.

DICE also mentioned that the award system will be a bit different this time around as they have tweaked it to give players the option to choose which Medal they want to attain at any given time.

"Battlefield veterans will notice some changes in how the commemorations work this time around. Each Medal still has a specific unlock criteria. In Battlefield 1 you have the freedom to choose which medals to pursue," explained the developer on a post at the game's official website.

DICE  further explains that once a player chooses to shift his attention to acquiring another Medal, his progress towards the previous Medal will be saved as long as it is still within the 7-day weekly challenge period. Once the weekly reset happens, all progress will be lost.

It was also revealed that there will be up to five challenges that must be completed to earn a Medal, with each level being harder to complete than the previous one.

"Battlefield 1" is scheduled for a worldwide release on Oct. 21 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

EA Origin Access members, on the other hand, can get their copy of the game today, Oct. 13.
