'Battlefield 1' news: Game still needs to improve despite lead in October's NPD rankings
"Battlefield 1" has created a record for itself by penetrating into the World War I genre, something no other shooting platform has done. More importantly, it has been getting a great reception from the gaming community, although some bugs and technical difficulties need to be fixed as swiftly as possible if it wants to continue the successful streak.
According to iTech Post, some of the more experienced players are seeing issues with the multiplayer mode. Some teams get broken up into squads of five players during the actual mission, while there are more troubling reports about squads being locked, leaving out a player or two.
Although not concerning technicality, some players also complain that randomly set objectives on a weekly basis seem to go against team play. This is considered a huge problem since "Battlefield 1" invites audiences mostly because of the multiplayer campaign, and fulfilling the said objectives is the only way to win medals in the game.
In a separate report, Gaming Bolt found out that the latest patch that is supposedly going to make fixes to the game has downgraded the visuals for PC and PS4 gamers. Some of the notable changes after the said patch were degraded texture quality, missing foliage, lack of tessellation and an overall decline in graphics quality just to name a few.
It is fortunate, though, that the developers are keeping a watchful eye, as DICE's Nils Hallberg mentioned on Twitter that the team is working on investigating the issues reported. Until then, fans will need to wait for a resolution and can air their concerns via forums.

As per the Game Informer, "Battlefield 1" has been declared the best-selling game for October NPD rankings, outshining other shooting platformers such as "Mafia III," "Gears of War 4," and "Titanfall 2." The unique take on war as well as the compelling storyline and environment could have contributed to its success, which is why DICE needs to work out the issues as quickly as they can.
It is also important to note that the game has several events from Nov. 16 to 27, as per the official website. It would be a shame if fans didn't notice this because of ongoing problems with the game.
