"Battlefield 1" Spring update has long been in the rumor mill since time immemorial. Interestingly, it is now official and has already been released to the game. As expected, it arrives with tons of exciting features and weapons, among others.

The highly anticipated Spring update for "Battlefield 1" has gone live. It comes with Platoons, four new weapon variants, server admin features and, more importantly, a set of bug fixes. The update is also developed to bring balance changes that the developers have since iterated in the past.

With the aforementioned update, players can now both create and manage their respective Platoons. The latter is synonymous to a total of 100 players (maximum) and can also be set to gain three options — open access, apply-to-join and/or closed. Platoons are not necessarily new to the franchise, as they were first introduced back in "Battlefield 3."

It is worth noting that the "Battlefield 1" Spring update is only meant to introduce the most significant and essential Platoons features. Apparently, developer DICE hopes to build this further in the future. The introduction of this feature will help players find when and where their teammates are playing.

As for the server admin features, this became possible, thanks to the feedbacks players gave. Server admins, in particular, are now able to grant players with admin rights and passwords meant to protect the servers. More importantly, this will allow players to set their servers so as to require lower numbers prior to ending pre-rounds.

Meanwhile, Kotaku reports that a series of clues have been acquired from the latest downloadable content (DLC) of the game called They Shall Not Pass. Interestingly, these allow players to summon a huge terrifying shark from the depths. Surprisingly, this is not the first on the list of clues discovered from the game.

Just a few weeks ago, players were able to discover a secret dog tag in "Battlefield 1." This was made simply by deciphering an encrypted Morse code message. This time around, the message has been hidden in what appears to be a recorded music.
