A new downloadable content (DLC) pack, known as Community Operations, is set to be launched for "Battlefield 4" later this fall.

The upcoming DLC pack is unique mainly for the new map it is introducing to the game.

Back in February, the game's developer, DICE, announced the Community Map Project. The main focus of the project was to engineer a community map for "Battlefield 4." This essentially meant that the new map would be a product of the developer working along with members of the game's community, according to IGN.

Months later, the project is now completed and ready to launch, and the product of that community work is the new "Battlefield 4" map known as Operation Outbreak.

Battlelog, the website dedicated to the game, has provided an outlook of what players can expect from the new map. According to the website, the main setting of Operation Outbreak is a dense jungle set along a valley. Inside that locale, players will be able to find interesting sites such as an ancient temple, a medical research facility, and even a waterfall. It's unclear if all three locations will factor into the gameplay of Operation Outbreak, although they have likely not been added only to serve as design elements.

The setting of Operation Outbreak is said to lend itself ideally to infantry-focused combat and players are advised to use light vehicles to gain quicker access to the entirety of the map and to also gain an advantage on their competitors.

In the lead up to the creation of Operation Outbreak, there were reportedly numerous options being explored for the look of the community map, according to PC Gamer.

Earlier on, players were given the choice between a possible mountain or even a desert setting for the community map before they eventually settled on the jungle locale.

Apparently, an urban setting was also an early consideration, although that did not pan out as well.
