EA Access subscribers are given a special treat — the game publishing company announced that they are giving away the "Battlefield 4: Second Assault" DLC for free. 

Based on the report posted by VG247, those who have an active subscription on the EA Access Hub app that is exclusively available on Xbox One can download the "Second Assault" DLC for free. However, it is only available for a limited time, beginning Jan. 29 until Feb. 28. 

The contents of the "Second Assault" expansion pack include several remakes and updates for the fourth installment of the "Battlefield" franchise. The pack also showcases the updated Caspian Border map and the much awaited comeback of the fan-favorite dune buggy. 

Aside from the Caspian Border, other maps are also included in the "Second Assault" DLC, such as the Gulf of Oman, Operation Metro, as well as Operation Firestorm. Moreoever, it features 10 new assignments, five achievements, and a plot to capture the flag. It also contains several new weapons, including the AS Val, F2000, M60E4, GOL Magnun, as well as DAO-12.

This is a great deal from the group behind the success of EA Access, after the paid service from Xbox One came up with free downloads for several popular titles, including "EA Sports UFC," "Plants versus Zombies: Garden Warfare," as well as "FIFA 14." The "Second Assault" DLC is the very first expansion pack to be added to the game using the EA Access Hub service. 

Meanwhile, EA Games and Visceral Games announced recently that they will finally start the open beta period for "Battlefield: Hardline" after delaying it late last year. The game publisher did not push through with the scheduled beta phase that was supposedly set during the final months of 2014.
