Although the military-style shooter "Battlefield 4" is already deemed as an older version of the game — having been released almost two years ago, plus the newer "Battlefield: Hardline" was already released last March — developer DICE still assures players that it will continue to evolve and expand. This time, it is slated to receive a new update.

According to the announcement on the official "Battlefield" blog, players are set to receive "Battlefield 4 Night Operations" today, Sept. 1.

EA DICE community manager Fixnow said that the update will bring new gameplay based on player feedback, saying, "When you talk, we listen, and when we heard that the Battlefieldcommunity wanted a new night map, we set out to make this idea a reality. It'll be coming in 'Battlefield 4 Night Operations', hitting the 'Battlefield' in September 2015."

Most noted on the upcoming update is a new map and gamplay for players. With the release of "Night Operations," players will unlock the Zavod: Graveyard Shift map. This new area is based on the fan favorite Zavod 311 map, but players will need to complete their missions and operate in the dark.

DICE has not only flipped the map times, they also considered updating the gameplay. When players pick Zavod: Graveyard Shift, they will notice a much improved sound system so they can pinpoint enemies based on footsteps and ambient sounds. There is also an updated passive/ active spotting for opponents, plus a new set of destructible environment.

The Zavod: Graveyard Shift map supports the standard "Battlefield 4" game modes, including Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Gun Master. However, the Gun Master mode features a layout that is much darker than the other gameplay modes, and there is also a new Weapons Preset that is very different from a day set-up.

Aside from introducing a new map and gameplay, the "Battlefield 4 Night Operations" DLC is also set to introduce game tweaks and system improvements to the base game.
