A new "Battlefield" game is launching next year. Although publisher Electronic Arts has yet to confirm any detail about it, a notorious leaker claims it could be a new installment to the joyous little spin-off "Bad Company," which features four gold-seeking soldiers fighting the odds while attempting to strike it rich.

In a new video, YouTuber AlmightyDaq says the game is actually "Battlefield: Bad Company 3." The long-awaited sequel is said to be set in mid-to-post-Vietnam War, with a mix of Cold War setting as well. Multiplayer modes, Rush, Conquest, Domination, Operations, and Team Deathmatch will all return for the new title, alongside a new 5v5-centric mode akin to the Squad Obliteration from "Battlefield 4."

Meanwhile, maps will reportedly offer "tighter gamplay" with less focus on the standard all-out warfare, comparable to the ones from "Bad Company 2" like Harvest Day and Oasis. According to reports, there will be extensive customization as well to the weaponry, characters, and vehicles, which include helicopters, tanks, and light-armored vehicles, among others. Micro-transactions are excluded in the meantime due to the backlash from "Star Wars: Battlefront II."

As with any rumor, AlmightyDaq's claims should be taken with a pinch of salt. However, it is worth noting that the YouTuber has already leaked a video for "Battlefield 1" before and his predictions turned out to be spot-on, so there is a possibility his latest one may also be true.

Should it come to fruition, an official announcement should arrive at either the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in March 2018 or shortly before E3 in June 2018.

First released in 2008, "Battlefield: Bad Company" is a spin-off to the main "Battlefield" game, developed specifically for console play. A sequel, Bad Company 2, was rolled out in 2010. It garnered mostly positive reviews with some considering it the best chapter of the entire franchise, thanks to the several new elements introduced into the series that continue to be used to this day.
