The recently concluded "The Game Awards" not only served to recognize those successful in the gaming world, but it also became an avenue for many exciting news and announcements. Nintendo, of course, had their own news and decided to surprise everyone with a "Bayonetta 3" announcement.

The reveal of a new game for the "Bayonetta" series came in the form of a teaser, which fans can now watch on Nintendo's YouTube channel. According to the surprise announcement, the game will be made likely an exclusive for the Nintendo Switch. This one was not much of a surprise given that the previous "Bayonetta 2" was also made exclusive for a specific console, the Wii-U.

However, that will no longer be the case. To keep the fans hyped up for the release of the new "Bayonetta" game, Nintendo also mentioned that they will be releasing both "Bayonetta" and "Bayonetta 2" for the handheld Switch console as well. On top of this, the new Switch ports will feature new features.

On the Switch, "Bayonetta 2" players will be able to play with others using the local wireless co-op, as per VG247. This also means they can do the Tag Climax feature which was only previously made available online.

Both of the older "Bayonetta" titles will be released for the Switch on Feb. 16, 2018. No other news was said about "Bayonetta 3" aside from how video game developers Platinum Games is making it for the Switch first. News for the game's move to other consoles may hopefully come later.

As for the game itself, fans can likely expect Nintendo to reveal more about it during the E3 next year. Aside from the news of the "Bayonetta" games, Nintendo also revealed, or rather, surprised their fans by giving them a teaser as well on the "Legend of Zelda's Champions" Ballad downloadable content (DLC).
