Showcased alongside Apple's iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and AirPods last Sept. 7 was the new BeatsX. Similar to the AirPods, the device is designed and engineered by Apple and is scheduled to arrive this month. However, there are rumors claiming that the BeatsX will not be arriving this month, but rather in December.

Mac Rumors reports that the neckband earphones have different availability dates. Fry's Electronics displays an estimated shipping date of Dec. 6, although pre-orders are disabled on the website. Another popular retailer, B&H, posted a Dec. 16 release date, and the said audio device can be pre-ordered now. However, the New York City-based retailer does not show shipping estimates. The BeatsX is listed for $149.95.

Many Apple and Beats aficionados were looking forward that they could get their hands on this new audio device by Black Friday or Cyber Monday, but it will not likely happen now. In spite of this, and if the rumored release date proves to be true, fans can have them during the Christmas holiday.

The BeatsX connects to iOS devices via Bluetooth. It uses Apple's own W1 chip that makes pairing as easy as possible. The wireless earphones can also connect to other Apple devices like the Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac all at the same time.

It also boasts of up to eight hours of musical enjoyment on a single charge, and a Fast Fuel charging option can provide two hours of use for a five-minute charge when the battery is low. It also includes an inline remote and microphone for answering calls or to converse with Siri.

The buds itself are magnetized, so it can stick together when not in use, which will also prevent it from falling off when it is simply around the neck. The band, called a Flex-Form cable, contains two super malleable and durable wires that will allow it to be rolled up to fit its small carrying case without worrying too much of damaging it.

Meanwhile, the AirPods was previously rumored to be launched by mid-November, which proved wrong and is now speculated to arrive not until January 2017. The AirPods are also wireless earphones and will only work with iOS devices.
