The first teaser trailer for Disney's live-action adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast" has been released online. The trailer is very short and features no singing portions from the film but it does establish that the movie will use the music from the original Disney animated film.

The trailer first cuts to scenes depicting the Beast's (Dan Stevens) castle, showcasing it as it gets old and forgotten by the passage of time. Candles are shown melting away and cobwebs cover the rest of the castle walls and furniture. There is a clip showcasing the royal family that once lived there, including what may be the Beast back as a human prince.

However, the image is then ripped by the Beast and a low growl is heard. This then cuts to Belle (Emma Watson) as she walks into the empty and dark castle. According to Cinema Blend, the two voices heard speaking during this portion of the trailer are speculated to be Lumiere (Ewan McGregor) and Cogsworth (Sir Ian McKellen).

Lumiere and Cogsworth, if they are truly the ones speaking, are heard discussing whether or not Belle may be "the one." According to the report this is a direct reference on whether or not Belle is the one that will make the Beast fall in love and finally break the curse that had been cast on the castle, turning the prince into a Beast and his servants into furniture and kitchen utensils.

The trailer then ends with a clip of Belle walking up to the rose, the same rose that represents the time limit the Beast has to undo the curse.

Cinema Blend also reports that the cast and director Bill Condon recognized that the songs had to be performed well and faithful to the performances from the animated original in order to properly capture the essence of the original film, an aspect that would be highly scrutinized by the audience.

As the trailer plays, the official "Beauty and the Beast" theme song from the animated film is played on piano before revealing the March 17, 2017 premiere date.
