In New Delhi, India’s capital, a Christian organisation plans to set up three thousand schools with hope amongst mission organisations that Manmohan Singh, the first ever non-Hindu Prime Minister and Oxford educated economist, will bring change.

A ‘Bibles for the World’ official says that schools are “one way” of reaching out to the community and that churches, hospitals and clean water wells are expected to follow.

Rochunga Pudaite of ‘Bibles for the World’ also says, “if we can open three thousand schools around New Delhi, we are praying that the Lord of the Harvest will send labourers, and that he will also provide the means whereby we will be able to bring education to these people, and along with that, we will share with them the life-transforming message of the Lord Jesus Christ.”

According to Pudaite, around 1500 needy school children, a hospital and a seminary in North-East India are being sponsored by believers. Also, more than 300 Indian churches have been ‘planted’ through partnerships with Indian national missionaries.
