Belper Salvation Army Provides Food for Thought

Belper Salvation Army has launched a new initiative to help those who find it difficult to get to church on a Sunday.

The Food for Thought scheme combines the opportunity to enjoy a sandwich and a hot drink before joining in with a short lunchtime worship service.

Taking place on Wednesdays at The Salvation Army's hall in Market Place, the initiative is intended to give an extra opportunity for people to find out more about the Christian faith.

Envoy Kevin Wibberly explains: 'We are conscious that it is not always convenient for everyone to get to church at the traditional times, so we thought we would offer the opportunity to enjoy some light refreshments with a worship service midweek.'

'Maybe the thought of traditional church is off-putting, maybe people just can't get here on a Sunday.

"This could be the opportunity to explore spiritual things. Come and find out!'

Food for Thought takes place on Wednesdays at 12 noon at The Salvation Army in Belper.
