Jimmy McGill's decision-making process will be the center of "Better Call Saul" season 2, according to series co-creator Peter Gould.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gould said the second season of the "Breaking Bad" prequel will focus on what people are capable of doing just to get the things that they want, particularly in Jimmy's (Bob Odenkirk) case.

"That theme certainly is a big part of Jimmy's world, and one of the things that we had to clarify for ourselves at the beginning of the season is what Jimmy really cares about at the beginning of season 2," Gould revealed. He also mentioned that Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) will also be affected by this, since the things that he likes the most can lead him toward some dark paths.

According to the series co-creator, Mike only cares about the remaining members of his family, specifically his daughter-in-law and his granddaughter. Because of his concern for them, Mike will be forced to deal with underground, lawless kinds of people.

The series co-creator also revealed that the viewers will also see a different side to Jimmy that was never seen before.

"You're going to see, for one thing, a romantic side to Jimmy. The relationship that he has with Kim (Rhea Seehorn) gets much deeper. It is both personal and professional, and it's really the beating heart of season 2," Gould mentioned.

But how Kim will react to Jimmy's new persona will also be featured in the upcoming episode, since Kim has very strong opinions about what Jimmy should do with his life.

Gould also revealed that a new character named Clifford (Ed Begley Jr.) could make most of Jimmy's dreams come true if Jimmy knows how to play his game.

"When you first meet him, he is highly avuncular and is somebody whom you'd like to spend time with and is a very sweet guy. But you wouldn't want to cross him, let's put it that way," Gould revealed.

AMC is slated to release the second season of "Better Call Saul" on Monday, Feb. 15.
