"Better Call Saul" is currently filming its third season, and ahead of its return next spring, AMC released the first-look photos of the upcoming installment, which shows a flash-forward into Jimmy's (Bob Odenkirk) future.

The show, which focuses on Jimmy — who would eventually become Saul Goodman, then Cinnabon manager Gene — is seen as Gene. One of the photos sees Odenkirk's character sitting on a bench in the mall and holding a sandwich, while another shot features the actor getting his makeup retouched while co-creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould look on.

"Breaking Bad" fans are aware of how Saul eventually became Gene when he went into the Witness Protection Program. The penultimate episode of the Bryan Cranston starrer saw the shady lawyer telling Walter White (Cranston) that he cannot be his lawyer anymore, and that he was about to go on the straight and narrow as just another man with "a job and three pairs of Dockers."

"If I'm lucky, a month from now, best-case scenario, I'm managing a Cinnabon in Omaha," said Saul.

When the prequel series premiered last year, viewers found out that Saul's prediction came to pass and that he did become a Cinnabon manager in Omaha and has taken on the name Gene. The opening scene saw the former lawyer mixing up a batch of the sweet pastries, cleaning kitchen equipment, and clearing tables at the shop.

Another photo shows Jimmy and his brother, Chuck (Michael McKean) inside a room wallpapered with sheets of tin foil. It can be recalled that Chuck suffers from electromagnetic hypersensitivity, and he believes that the foil somehow helps lessen his debilitating allergy to electricity. Chuck is up on a ladder, while Jimmy smiles at him as he holds a copy of "The Adventures of Mabel."

In the season 2 finale, it was revealed that Chuck recorded Jimmy's confession about tampering with the Mesa Verde documents. When the show returns, it is expected that fans will find out whether Chuck will use the confession to his advantage.

"Better Call Saul" season 3 premieres in 2017 on AMC.
