Bible scholars outline God's plan for 'ultimate justice' against ISIS

Bible scholars Dr Charles Dyer and Pastor Mark Tobey say Christians have no reason to fear threats from the Islamic State, and should rest in their faith in the Lord.

The men are the authors of "The ISIS Crisis: What You Really Need to Know" by Moody Publishers, and urged Christians to let their light shine although the world be troubled.

"Too many Christians respond in the same way to situations like ISIS, the Ebola outbreak, an economy in a tailspin, or any other trial that feels completely out of control," they wrote. "When the ground begins to move under our feet, fear tempts us to cut and run."

While the scholars insisted that the threat of ISIS is real, they cautioned that terrorists thrive on creating fear and confusion.

In "The ISIS Crisis," Dyer and Tobey explain the history of Middle Eastern conflicts, and draw from biblical prophecy to explain the roots of the current threat.

IS seeks to establish an extremist Sunni Muslim reign across the Middle East. The terrorist group controls much of Iraq and Syria, and has slaughtered thousands in their pursuit of power.

While nations across the world have rallied to violently oppose ISIS, Dyer and Tobey said God will be the ultimate judge.

"God is the only perfect, righteous Judge of all the earth," they explained. "He knows everyone's motives and actions, and He will ultimately give each person what he or she deserves.

"This includes ultimate justice for members of ISIS. The wicked, the ruthless, and those who love violence will face a certain and dreadful judgment."

They also warned that ISIS is not the greatest threat that the world will face.

"The prophet Ezekiel describes a time when that coalition will launch an attack against Israel," they explained.

"Another army will someday surge across the Middle East. They won't be carrying the black flags of ISIS, but their intent will be just as evil and destructive.

"When world events mirror the events described in the Bible, the beginning of the end could be near."
