Bible Society Calling All Christians to Take Part in the Drama of the Bible

The Bible Society is gearing up its work towards this year's Bible Sunday. The organisation is now calling on all Christians to play their part for the day in the day's themed "The Drama of the Bible".

The Bishop of Durham, the Rt Rev Tom Wright who inspired the theme of this year's Bible Sunday spoke of the need of all Christians to "lift up our eyes to see the great drama of Scripture in which we are invited to find our own part."

The Bible Society is a Christian charity, which has dedicated itself to making the Bible heard all over the world. It aims to build bridges between the Bible and people's every day lives so that they may see how the Bible can explain and show them a greater purpose of their lives.

The Bible Sunday is currently scheduled to take place on Sunday 23rd October 2005, and the Bible Society has commented that is wishes to allow Christians to rediscover the "drama of the Bible".

The Partnership and Development Executive of the Bible Society, Ann Holt said, "This is an annual opportunity for churches to celebrate and affirm the value of the Bible to daily life and worship."

A free Bible Sunday pack, which includes an adult talk, all-age service and activities, PowerPoint presentation, drama sketch and suggested prayers and songs, has been created especially for the event. The pack can be downloaded for free from the Bible Society website by clicking here. In addition, orders for the pack can be made by calling 01793 418100.

The Rt Rev Tom Wright commented, "I am delighted to see that Bible Society is offering first-class help on exactly this theme."
