"Big Hero 6" is one of the most successful animated movies of Disney, bagging an Academy Award and earning more than $600 million in the box office. The massive success calls for a sequel and perhaps one is coming, called by insiders as "Big Hero 7."

In a report by Movie News Guide, the sequel is believed to be screened in 2017 if the "story deserves to be told," said Don Hall and Chris Williams, the directors of the film. This timeline is also consistent with the claims of Stan Lee of doing the film after another "Guardians of the Galaxy." Aside from the launch date, little is known about the sequel, even its title is still in the dark.

Regarding the plot, there are rumors that Tadashi is not dead and the strongest evidence for that claim is Baymax's reference to the presence of Tadashi when he said, "Tadashi is here."

Movie Pilot also revealed the possibility of Tadashi eventually becoming Sunfire. This story development can open up the possibility of an X-Men crossover, as Sunfire is part of the team of Professor X. Disney also owns the rights to the "X-Men" franchise and this can lead to Tadashi's entry to the Marvel universe.

Baymax, on the other hand, is rumored to become a villain, leaving Hiro and joining Tadashi. This supposition can really add more drama to the sequel, perhaps even culminating into a fight scene involving the brothers.

There are also rumors that "Big Hero 7" will have a darker theme, as the sequel will probably move away from the lighthearted feel of the original film. This was hinted by the release of dark painted toys from "Big Hero 6." Although many would argue this is just a coincidence, it is still a possibility worth considering.

Regardless of the plot of the new "Big Hero" film, it will surely appeal to fans of the movie. With a possibly bigger audience than before, "Big Hero 7" can be much bigger than its predecessor.
