Billy Graham says Satan can fool people into thinking that he is 'promoting good' while hiding his evil intentions

There is no doubt that Satan is absolutely evil. However, world-renowned evangelist Billy Graham says Satan can be very tricky and fool people into thinking that he is "promoting good and standing for what is right."

"But even when Satan appears to be on the side of good, he is only using it as a mask to deceive us and hide his real intentions — which are always evil," Graham warns on his website.

Even the apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 11:14: "Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light."

Because of this, Graham tells Christians never to underestimate Satan's power and his ability to deceive people and make them think that he is not to be feared.

"In fact, he even deceives some people into thinking he doesn't exist! He is not as powerful as God — but he still is a powerful spiritual force who works against God in every way he possibly can. No wonder the Bible commands us to 'Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes' (Ephesians 6:11)," says Graham.

The evangelist adds that Satan does everything that he can to block God's plan on Christians' lives. Everything he does is to contradict the works and plans of God. "He isn't equal with God — but in ways that are largely hidden from us, he is engaged in a constant cosmic battle against God," says Graham.

As terrifying as Satan is, Graham says the good news is that he is already a defeated foe. "Yes, he is still at work — but by Jesus Christ's death and resurrection, He dealt Satan a fatal blow. Death and Hell and Satan have been defeated, and someday Christ's victory will be complete. Make sure your faith and trust are in Jesus Christ, both now and for all eternity," he tells his readers.
