Online retail giant Amazon is saving its customers from a long wait for Black Friday by bringing in early deals and steals. The company's Countdown to Black Friday event has officially begun and from this day up to Dec. 22, shoppers can expect special offers and great discounts.

From watches to jackets to jewellery and accessories as well as books and even television sets, Amazon already has the annual shopping bonanza dominated. The retailer also has Deals of the Day, where select items are sold at knockdown prices for 24 hours.

For today, there are six items up for grabs starting with the Lytro Illum 40 Megaray Light Field Camera. Amazon stripped the price from $1,299.00 to $399.99. That's a whopping 69 percent off. Amazon also slashed at least 45 percent off the prices of some Cuisinart items too.

Those who have been meaning to pick up a new electric guitar or at least spruce up their musical playmate with some sweet new accessories would love today's deal on guitars, amps, plugs and many more that are guaranteed to save buyers 40 percent or more.

One of Amazon's spotlights for today's Deals of the Day is Timex. A whole selection of timepieces under the brand is on 70 percent discount max. Buyers can choose from a variety of styles, from leather to stainless to sporty watches.

DVD and Blu-ray copies of American crime drama "The Wire" are also on sale. From $200, Amazon brings the price all the way down to $60. Lastly, customers can purchase some good pair of Crocs shoes from Amazon for half the original price, thanks to the early Black Friday bonanza.

Amazon also has some Lightning deals on offer, where certain products are on sale for 30 minutes. The company is also making Black Friday an entire week instead of a one-day big time shopping galore to cater to the holiday rush.
