Black Panther's appearance in "Captain America: Civil War" was arguably one of the most anticipated scenes in the film. It looks like the glamor isn't going to die down in its upcoming solo movie by 2018 as a star-studded cast pours in and is now made even brighter by another award-winning actress.

Marvel has formally announced that "American Horror Story's" Angela Bassett will be joining the all-star crew of the "Black Panther" solo film. She will be playing Ramonda, mother of T'Challa, or more popularly known as the protagonist Black Panther reprised by Chadwick Boseman.

Bassett joins the strong cast featuring Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger, Forest Whitaker as Zuri, Lupita Nyong'o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Daniel Kaluuya as W'Kabi, Winston Duke as M'Baku, and Florence Kasumba as Ayo. As per usual, Stan Lee, creator of Marvel, will be surely making another cameo appearance in the film.

In other related news, Boseman mentioned during a red carpet interview at Marvel's Doctor Strange premiere that he's very much interested in where his character came from. "I am excited to explore more of the origin of the character...being able to work with those people [the cast] is the most exciting thing," Boseman said.

Even if it isn't much to go around with, this could probably point out to the story of the Black Panther theme going back to where T'Challa came from, how he assumed power, and where the plot from "Civil War" is going to take him now that his father is dead. Pointing out his relationship with the other cast members could mean that there will be a lot of backstories to understand the superhero more, thus the need for a strong cast. If a scene where Storm, also known as Ororo Monroe, becomes the Black Panther's wife could be inserted somewhere in the film, that would make another connection to yet another Marvel film, but that remains to be seen.

"Black Panther" is set for an initial release on July 6, 2018.
