Marvel Studios will yet again be setting the pace for the superhero movie genre with its first offering for 2018, "Black Panther."

The cast of the upcoming Marvel movie includes Angela Bassett (Ramonda, the Queen Mother), Michael B. Jordan (Erik Killmonger), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Lupita Nyong'o (Nakia), Daniel Kaluuya (W'Kabi), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Forest Whitaker (Zuri), Winston Duke (M'Baku), Florence Kasumba (Ayo), Sterling K. Brown (N'Jobu), Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa the Black Panther, and John Kanin as King T'Chaka.

Chadwick Boseman's comic book character made its debut in "Captain America Civil War." In the 2016 movie, the mantle of the Black Panther was passed in an untimely manner after the bombing incident that left Bucky Barnes framed. Its relatively short origins story was more than enough to introduce the superhero powerhouse into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

What movie fans understood from the film most was how Black Panther's claw was able to scratch Captain America's shield almost effortlessly. In addition, critics could only say good things about Boseman's seamless performance of the young king of Wakanda.

An official trailer for the movie was released last Oct. 16. One thing to note with the trailer was its stunning visuals that will remind fans of the time they first saw the grandeur of Asgard from "Thor." Just like in the comics, the movie will present the isolated kingdom of Wakanda as the most technologically advanced country in the world.

Movie and comic book fans know for a fact the Wakanda is the only place in the world where the rare metal called Vibranium can be harvested. Captain America's shield as well as T'Challa's (Boseman) suit is made from this metal.

In the new trailer, fans finally see Jordan wearing another Black Panther suit hinting that there will be a power struggle of some sort between him and Boseman.

"Black Panther" is set for release on cinemas on February 2018. The movie will come after "Thor: Ragnarok" and before "Avengers: Infinity War."
