'Black Sails' season 3 spoilers: Eleanor forges deal with Rogers in episode 2

Starz

"Black Sails" season 3 will see Captain Edward Teach aka Blackbeard (Ray Stevenson) coming back to the island, and along with him are some disputes. As Blackbeard fights for the old way of a pirate's life, Eleanor (Hannah New) will be forced to make a deal with Captain Rogers (Luke Roberts), a deal which may endanger Nassau.

According to the official synopsis for season 3 episode 2, as per Cartermatt, Eleanor is still a prisoner in London and her life is now in danger as the current sentence for her life of a pirate supporter is death. However, Rogers will reportedly approach her for a deal and this deal may lead to the British Navy invading Nassau and ending piracy for good.

As seen in the season 3 promo trailer, Captain Flint (Toby Stephens) will go on a violent rampage to stop Rogers and his fleet from taking over Nassau. Episode 2 is likely going to show how Nassau is captured in the first place. In order to fight back, Flint will need to forge stronger alliances with the other pirates and this includes Blackbeard himself.

The synopsis also reveals that Blackbeard will have a dispute with Jack Rackham (Toby Schmitz) and this may be related to the fact that Blackbeard is introducing a new way of life for the pirates.

Speaking to Collider, actor Stephens explained that Blackbeard will be coming in as an "old-school" pirate who disagrees with the way pirates have been dealing their business. Blackbeard will be coming in trying to show the pirates how the business is properly done but the others, particularly Rackham, disagree and point out that the times are changing.

"In a way, you want Blackbeard to be this guy who comes in as the real pirate that shows everyone," explained Stephens. "He becomes someone where you go, 'Actually, no, your way is not the right way. You're old school and things are changing. This is no longer that world. You can't hold onto that.'"

"Black Sails" season 3 episode 2 airs this Jan. 30.
