Another one of Marvel Studios' crime-fighting superhero movies, titled "Black Widow," is rumored to have a 2020 release. American star actress Scarlett Johansson, who has portrayed Black Widow since her debut in the 2012 movie "The Avengers," will continue her role as Marvel's enigmatic and beautiful superhero.

According to inside sources of The Daily Mail, a script of the movie is already being worked one, indicating that the film could be ready around the start of 2020. The sources also mention that Jac Schaffer is already working with the development team as the story's main writer.

It is also reported that Scarlett Johansson has signed a $25 million deal for the said movie. Joe Russo, one of the two Russo brothers (the other being Anthony) in charge of directing and producing Marvel movies expressed excitement for Johansson's film in a podcast of Happy Sad Confused, according to CinemaBlend.

"Scarlett does such a good job of playing that character and people are so used to that character that you forget the character's history, and so there's a lot of compelling stories to tell about someone who has a dark past," Joe said. While Joe and Anthony might retire from the movie's duties after the a fourth installment of "The Avengers" franchise, Joe expressed how great a "Black Widow" movie would be.

"Yeah, we're very happy for that. I mean it's such a rich and interesting character. There's so much to explore with a character whose history was as a villain," the director said.

Johansson's rumored film would be the fourth franchise movie among the original "The Avengers" cast, joining the likes of superheroes Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor. Other core characters that have yet their own film are The Hulk and Hawkeye.

While "Black Widow" might seem as the first female Marvel superhero to get a solo movie, that honor actually belongs to "Captain Marvel," featuring American actress Brie Larson, which is slated to come next year.
