Those who miss their old BlackBerry devices should start rejoicing, as the Canada-based mobile phone company confirms that the new BlackBerry Classic will be out in stores this December.

BlackBerry CEO John Chen made the big announcement about the new BlackBerry Classic alongside the BES12 launch during his talk at the MIT Enterprise Forum held in Hong Kong.

"BES12 will launch on November 13th, followed by the BlackBerry Classic one month later," CEO Chen said during the forum, as quoted by Franchise Herald.

Chen explained that the BES12, also known as the BlackBerry Enterprise Service 12, is a "tool for business and government customers to manage mobile devices on their networks, and is also the company's attempt to unify its existing platforms and provide clients with increased flexibility and security."

The BlackBerry Classic, also known as the BlackBerry Q20, will reportedly come with a 3.5-inch display with 720 x 720 pixels display resolution and 294 ppi density. It measures 131 x 72.4 x 10.2 and weighs 178 grams.

The new BlackBerry phone is powered by a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory size. There is also a microSD card slot that allows memory expansion of up to 128 GB. It is also reportedly sporting a 13-megapixel primary camera with a 2-megapixel secondary camera.

Most importantly, the BlackBerry Classic features the signature physical QWERTY keypad that the brand is known for. This is what separates BlackBerry from the other leading mobile phone manufacturers in the market today.

Chen said in a open letter to BlackBerry customers, "It is classic BlackBerry – complete with a top row of navigation keys and a trackpad. It's the device that has always felt right in your hands and always felt right in your busy day."

However, Chen did not divulge the actual release date further, and no price had been revealed for the BlackBerry Classic as of the moment.
