If an iPhone user is given a chance to get up to $550 to trade their Apple device for a new BlackBerry Passport, would they grab it?  Although it is hard to believe that avid iPhone users will gladly ditch their trusted Apple devices, the amount of cash that BlackBerry is willing to pay them to make the big move might be tempting enough.

The Canadian mobile manufacturer is doing everything to work its way back to the smartphone market by offering cash for iPhone owners to trade in their devices to the company's newest BlackBerry Passport smartphone.  The cash value in the trade-in program depends on the iPhone model. For example, those who own a new iPhone 6 in good condition can get as much as $400 when it is traded for the BlackBerry Passport. Other iPhone models like the iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, and iPhone 4 can be entered into this program as well, and they will get an additional $150 top up that will be given in the form of a Prepaid Visa Card.

The BlackBerry Passport trade-in program will begin on Monday, Dec. 1, and is expected to run until February 13, 2015.

Aside from this program, BlackBerry is also offering a more affordable BlackBerry Passport deal this coming Black Friday sale, wherein $200 will be taken off the square smartphone's regular price.

The new BlackBerry Passport smartphone comes with a 4.5-inch screen that features 1440 x 1440 pixels resolution. It is equipped with a 2.26 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and 3 GB RAM.  Its 32 GB storage space can be expanded up to 128 GB. It also has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front shooter, and a battery capacity of 3450mAh.

But the question is, will Apple users actually trade-in their precious iPhone devices to give BlackBerry products, particularly the BlackBerry Passport, a try?
