The alleged new phone from BlackBerry, currently codenamed "Venice," has apparently been spotted in public.

Upon first glance, the phone looks just as it has been described in earlier rumors, suggesting that those reports may have been accurate after all, according to CrackBerry.

Photos taken of the supposed BlackBerry Venice show off its hideaway QWERTY keyboard that owners can use either as their primary implement of encoding information with the new phone or something they can simply use when they don't want to bother with the touchscreen.

Also seen in the photos is the rumored curved edge screen of the phone that gives it  distinct if not completely unique look. The new photos also show off the 18-megapixel camera of the rumored BlackBerry Venice, according to Engadget.

Thanks to the new photos, people are also able to see the new placement for the BlackBerry Venice's SIM and MicroSD slots. This time around, those two slots are located at the top of the phone. Interestingly enough, if these photos end up to be the real deal, then that would mean that previous reports suggesting the power button would be at the top of the phone would be proven to be inaccurate.

Other rumored specs of the BlackBerry Venice include the phone sporting a Snapdragon 808 processor together with 3 GB of RAM, according to Android Central. It is also said to have a 5.4-inch display as well as a five-megapixel camera placed up front.

The leaked images of the BlackBerry Venice also show the new device running what appears to be the Android Lollipop operating system (OS). The BlackBerry Venice will reportedly be running a somewhat modified version of the Android Lollipop OS, as it will still reportedly be featuring some aspects of the BlackBerry 10 when it does eventually come out.
