The latest trailer for "The Blacklist" season 3 has been released, and things seem to be looking bad for Liz (Megan Boone) and Red (James Spader) as the authorities run after them. 

Liz is seen sporting a new hairstyle in the trailer, in an obvious attempt to disguise herself while on the run with Red after she shot and killed Attorney General Thomas "Smiling Tommy" Connolly (Reed Birney) last season. Red seems surprised to see his partner with the new hairdo. 

The video also shows acting FBI counterterrorism director Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) showing Liz's profile to a bunch of police officers to alert them that the former FBI agent is now considered a fugitive. Then he and Liz were also seen talking on the phone, where Ressler reminds Liz that she killed the Attorney General of the U.S.

Later, he is seen wearing a bulletproof vest, yelling, "There's two ways this ends, you come out hands raised, or we come down guns raised." 

"The Blacklist" executive producer Jon Bokenkamp discussed the fate of the law enforcers-turned-fugitives. He said that Liz and Red must get out of Washington D.C. first before they get stuck in the city. The series exec also said that Liz's attempt to dodge the law will give her a glimpse of her past. 

"What we hit on in the story is that by virtue of her being on the run and having to change her look, she ends up realizing that she may look like her mother," Bokenkamp stated in the interview with The Entertainment Weekly. "It felt like a really nice, organic way to take the on-the-run story of two fugitives and yet tie it back into the mythology of who Liz is, who Red is, what their relationship is and to lean into the bigger question of identity." 

Liz will also reportedly deal with her previous discovery that she was the one who killed her father when she was younger.

"The Blacklist" season 3 premieres on Thursday, Oct. 1, on NBC.
