Blizzard is looking for some new engineers to work on some of their older games.

To be more specific, the potential hires will be working on well-known Blizzard releases such as "Diablo II," "StarCraft," and "Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos," according to Polygon.

It's unclear if the new hires will only be asked to work on those old particular set of old games.

The new engineers will also become part of what Blizzard terms as their new Classic Games division.

The responsibilities of the new engineers will include working on areas such as gameplay, graphics, multiplayer, and also cleaning up some of the bugs and issues that may have accumulated over the years when it comes to these games.

Those who will be hired for the job will also be asked to keep the older games safe from hacking efforts, which is particularly important given how far technology has advanced since the titles mentioned earlier were originally launched.

Given the job description and the responsibilities of the new opening, it's easy to misinterpret it as Blizzard planning something potentially huge for their classic titles, although that does not appear to be the case.

In a statement issued by Blizzard to Gamespot, the company indicated that the new engineers will simply be providing maintenance work for their older games. According to Blizzard, many of their older games are still being played today, and they simply want to make the experience as good as it can be for those who still enjoy their earlier offerings.

Blizzard is no stranger to providing long-term support for their games and the company has even been known to release several patches and updates for their titles even years after they were initially launched.

There is no word yet on whether or not Blizzard has anything else in store for their older fan-favorites.
