FromSoftware's award-winning action role-playing game "Bloodborne" is getting a comic book series next year.

The upcoming comic book series, titled "Bloodborne: The Death of Sleep," will be written by Ales Kot. It will be published by Titan Comics and is reportedly coming out sometime in February 2018. No specific date has been given yet.

The comic will be an avenue to expand on the game's lore. It will follow the story of a hunter from Yharnam as he ventures off to slay horrible creatures.

Moreover, the summary gives a more detailed hint at what might be to come:

After a nameless hunter awakens in an ancient city, he realizes that things lurk in the shadows. The creatures are bloodthirsty and dangerous and will stop at nothing to destroy whoever comes in their way. The nameless hunter wishes to escape the hunt and the strange city he's awaken in so he goes on a dangerous quest to put an end to this endemic.

Not much else has been revealed about the upcoming comic book series but if it's going to be anything like the video game, then fans can expect action-packed fight scenes, creative weapons, an ever-present dark atmosphere, creepy but beautiful landscapes, and violence to go along with the tense fight scenes.

The comic book's cover features a man in a trench coat. He carries two weapons: a gun in one hand and melee weapon in the other. The city behind him is burning, the sky is alight with flames, and a monster-like figure is lying limp on the city streets behind him.

The "Bloodborne" game that was released for the PlayStation 4 in 2015 had players take on the role of a hunter who fought his way through the spooky streets of Yharnam. Fans of the game might in be in for some nostalgia when they return to the city in the comic book series.
