'Bloodborne: The Old Hunters' DLC news: Expansion details

Bloodborne: The Old Hunters DLC From Software

As previously reported, the upcoming DLC for "Bloodborne," called The Old Hunters, will expand the game even further by adding in new weapons, an entirely new location and a new story to follow. According to a report from Geeksnack, official details regarding the DLC's content will release sometime this week in the next issue of Famitsu.

Famitsu magazine is known for releasing information regarding a game a day before its official release because Famitsu's digital copy releases before the physical copy is available in store shelves. The report also showcases several low-resolution images of Famitsu's pages, revealing a sneak peek at the "Bloodborne" details to come.

As was previously reported, the expansion will introduce new weapons such as Simon's Bow, a "beast cleaver," a "buzzsaw hammer" and the return of the sword and shiled combo seen from the developer's previous games such as "Demon Souls" and "Demon Souls II."

It is expected that the Famitsu article will reveal the official names of these new weapons as well as give further explanation on how they work or how they can be acquired in the DLC. As of the time of writing, the names given to these are solely based on fan translations and based on how the weapons functions as seen in the promotional trailer.

The "Bloodborne: The Old Hunters" DLC will be set in a new location, focusing primarily on the city of Yharnam. According to Geeksnack, the city is ridden with the souls of trapped hunters. Players will explore the nightmarish city in the attempt to uncover Yharnam's dark history and why warriors of the past remain stuck in it.

The "Bloodborne: The Old Hunters" DLC will officially release for the PlayStation 4 on Nov. 24 in all regions. The game will be released for $19.99, although there will be a special edition that comes with both "Bloddborne" and "The Old Hunters" DLC packaged together.
