'Bloodborne' website gets update, hints at gameplay and new features

Updates to Sony's "Bloodborne" game on March 6 gives the gaming community a sneak peek on what could be expected from this PS4-exclusive action RPG. Aside from visually stunning screenshots, gameplay and feature information are also detailed.

For multiplayer gameplay, fans can choose from three modes, namely co-op, PvP, and asynchronous multiplayer. For the co-op missions, up to three players can play online, and they must defeat the area boss. The mode starts when a host player uses the "Hunter Calling Bell" item, calling on two other players who must use the "Resonant Bell" item in order to join the game. The mission ends if either the host or the guest hunters die, or if players retreat. Matches are done systematically, and for added privacy, the host player can set a password.

The asynchronous element is also for online multiplaying. In this, players can leave messages for other players in case they die. Grave markers can be seen in the spot where previous players died, and for the new guests, touching these markers initiate video replays.

Online PvP is somewhat like a co-op mode but, in this instance, the guest players act as aggressors to the host. They must try to invade the host player's world, and they will be rewarded if they succeed. Guest players can initiate PvP mode when there is an "Ominous Resonant Bell" item present, or they can invade an ongoing co-op match.

Updated information that can also be seen on the upgraded website is about a first-day patch release, and players will be able to enjoy enhanced gaming and optimized online play. Sony also posted a clarification about Playstation Plus, saying that PS Plus is required for co-op and PvP modes only, not for update downloads.

"Bloodborne" will be released exclusively for the PS4 on March 24 in North America, and March 26 and 27 for Japan and Europe, respectively.
