"Blue Bloods" season 6 is going out with a bang as the synopsis for the finale episode, courtesy of TV Guide, reveals that the team, the mayor and the DA's office will have their hands tied when the public gets uneasy surrounding a recent but violent incident.

As stated in the synopsis, an NYPD officer will get in trouble after shooting a teenager but when the issue comes to court he is not indicted by the grand jury, essentially letting the officer go free. This will cause the public to outrage and protest and very quickly things get out of hand.

Mayor Carter Poole (David Ramsey) and Erin's (Bridget Moynahan) will be dealing with the main brunt of the complaints as they both try to diffuse the tension between the local authorities and the people. Commissioner Frank (Tom Selleck) will suffer the most from the public's ire and it gets worse when one of his officers get shot.

According to the synopsis, it is believed that one of the protestors may have shot the officer as a form of retaliation. This will prompt Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) to get into action and begin investigating who may have been responsible while the rest of the team tries to get the public situation back to normal.

Unfortunately this may not end well for Danny as the person responsible for shooting one of the police officers may be after him as well.

The episode will be a pleasant surprise for fans of the CW show "Arrow" as it does see the return of David Ramsey as the city mayor. Mayor Carter Poole has been recognized as a different breed of television politician for not being the stereotypical corrupt or brutal man in office and is instead portrayed as someone earnestly trying to help the city.

"Blue Bloods" season 6 episode 22 will air this May 6.
