"Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland,"  much like the "Veronica Mars" film, was meant as a means of properly ending the "Blue Mountain State" series and was intended to release back in September 2015. After months of silence, the studios behind the film have finally released the first footage of the movie, further implying it will release this year.

The clip is only a minute and a half long and not even a proper trailer but it does showcase the inevitable chaos that will ensue. The scene in the clip focuses on Alex (Darin Brooks) and the rest of the "Blue Mountain State" cast attempting to make Thad Castle (Alan Ritchson) feel better by bringing him to his own amusement park, "Thadland."

Just like the television series which the film follows, the clip reveals that the movie will have all the sex, drugs, and alcohol mixed in as part of its comedic punch. 

"Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland" initially hit a roadbump back in 2015 when the MPAA gave it an NC-17 rating which would prevent it from releasing in theaters nationwide. According to a report from Beantown Beat, several edits have been made to give the film an R-Rating but despite the changes, distributor Lionsgate has not yet given the film a proper release schedule.

However, the report does point out that the cast promised fans before that this year would be a good year, indicating that the movie may finally see release sometime before 2016 ends. 

Fans were not the only ones disappointed with the lack of a release date attached to the clip. Star Alan Ritchson responded via Twitter, stating that the information promised was not given out. It is speculated that the information in discussion is the film's release date. Lionsgate may yet announce the date when they release a proper full length trailer.
