Bob Dylan is still a Christian, says man who prayed sinner's prayer with iconic artist
His last album Tempest was full of Christian references but there have always been rumours circulating that Bob Dylan lost his faith.
Now the man who prayed the sinners prayer with the singer back in 1978 says the iconic singer is still very much a Christian.
Al Kasha, an Oscar winning songwriter and Messianic Jew, was with Dylan when he received Christ as his saviour during a Bible study at Kasha's Beverly Hills home.
Dylan's conversion had a massive impact on his music and the albums that came after - Slow Train Coming, Saved, and Shot of Love - were heavily Christian.
Decades later, his 2012 release and 35th studio album Tempest followed in a similar vein.
But still, some have wondered whether Dylan reneged on his conversion.
Assist News's Dan Wooding asked Kasha a few days ago whether he thinks Dylan is still a Christian.
"Absolutely," he said. "Anyone who can sit and write 34 songs about Jesus Christ believes in Jesus Christ."
Kasha was commenting from the Pat Boone 80th Birthday Celebrity Roast. Asked what he thought was the key to Boone's long career, he replied: "Reputation, talent and accountability, but reputation is most important, and Pat certainly has that."
