Bobbi Kristina Brown's father, Bobby Brown, filed to get the guardianship for her estate, the NBC Atlanta affiliate news channel 11Alive reported.

The 46-year-old New Edition singer wants to be the executor of his 22-year-old daughter's estate. At the moment, Bobbi Kristina's grandmother, Cissy Houston, and her aunt and uncle, Pat and Gary Houston, act as the guardians of her estate, which is believed to include a $20 million inheritance from her late mother Whitney Houston.

A source told PEOPLE that Bobby only wants to give the best treatment for his daughter, who is currently being treated at the DeKalb Medical Facility after being discovered unresponsive in her own bathtub back in January.

"This is not about him taking her money – he has money of his own. This is about making sure that she will have the best care for as long as she needs ... The truth is that he wants to get her the best care she can possibly get, that's all," the source claims.

Reports say that Bobby wants to make sure that his daughter gets continuous treatment despite the staggering amount of her medical bills. It is also said that he will not just give up on her.

Earlier, Cissy said that although her granddaughter is already out of her medically induced coma, she will still have an irreversible brain damage and continues to be unresponsive. She might also stay that way for as long as she lives.

But Bobby's lawyer earlier revealed in an official statement: "Bobbi Kristina's condition has changed since moving from Emory University Hospital and there has been improvement. Doctors have indicated that she will have a long life."

At the moment, Bobby's legal team remains mum about the guardianship case. On the other hand, Cissy's camp released their official statement about the matter, saying:

"This is a family matter involving sensitive information. We hope to resolve this in a manner that is respectful of Bobbi Kristina's sensitive health information. The Houston family has always looked out for the best interest of Bobbi Kristina Brown. The family has done so all of her life and will continue to do so. We trust that others have the same objective."
