The specialists from the Jeffersonian will take on a high-stakes case involving a murdered political journalist in the upcoming episode of the FOX series "Bones."

In "High Treason in the Holiday Season," TV Guide reports that after publishing an exposé about the National Security Agency (NSA), the correspondent is found dead. The article is said to contain explosive information about corruption in the intelligence organization. Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and her team will have to handle this case with care, as they have no idea whether NSA controversy is indeed the reason why the journalist is now dead. For instance, it could have ordered the hitman to stop the journalist from exposing more secrets in what could have been the revelation of the decade.

The nature of the investigation will reportedly get to Hodgins (T.J. Thyne), as he will fear that they are being watched. They are dealing with NSA after all, the premiere intelligence gathering agency of the country. Will Hodgins' reservations prove to be true? Meanwhile, the case will not stop the team from celebrating Thanksgiving. They have much to be grateful for this year, especially Brennan and Booth (David Boreanaz). Brennan is even planning a surprise for her husband.

Last episode, the team investigated a case involving the death of an escape artist. The body was found by a trio of bicyclists who were racing in the woods. When Hodgins, Camille (Tamara Taylor), and Aubrey (John Boyd) processed the crime scene, they discovered that the victim had been dragged there. At the Jeffersonian, the analysis of the corpse revealed that a key was forced inside the skull. It was also discovered that she had an allergic reaction before she was strangled to death.

It turned out that the magician was having an affair with her roommate's boyfriend. Her friend learned about it and decided to kill her. First, the victim was sent flowers that triggered her allergy. She had difficulty breathing, the killer took the chance and strangled her using chain links.

"Bones" season 11 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
