'Bones' season 11 spoilers: Cam, Arastoo face relationship problems in premiere

Cam and Arastoo deal with some misunderstandings in the upcoming season of "Bones." Facebook/Fox

Cam (Tamara Taylor) and Arastoo (Pej Vahdat) will experience trouble in their relationship in the upcoming season of Fox's long-running series "Bones."

TV Line reports that the couple's misunderstanding will start with Arastoo spending too much time in the lab, which leaves Cam feeling abandoned and taken for granted. When Brennan (Emily Deschanel) decided to leave the Jeffersonian and the FBI, Arastoo is apparently the one who will take over most of her work.

Executive producer Michael Peterson revealed that Arastoo's preoccupation with his work would ultimately put a wedge on his relationship with Cam.

"In the six months since Brennan left, Arastoo has pretty much been the main person taking over the lab. With everything that happens in the first two episodes, it's going to be a challenge for their relationship," Peterson said.

Meanwhile, Peterson admitted to Entertainment Weekly that family is the reason why Booth (David Boreanaz) would be missing when "Bones" returns. Does this mean that the rumors about his brother Jared's (Brendan Fehr) death are true?

It has been previously reported that the agent has gone incommunicado while searching for his brother. The younger man could be dead, which explains why his wife Padme (Dilshad Vadsaria) will be seen alone in the new season. Apparently, Booth will be on a mission to find out what exactly happened to him.

"It's a family reason. He gets involved in something that's very close to home and is probably the only thing that would pull him away from the tranquil life that he was leading up until that moment," said Peterson, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Showrunner Jonathan Collier told TV Guide that while the unfortunate event is certainly disheartening, it will nevertheless end up with "the best possible result." Booth's disappearance will ultimately bring him and Brennan back into the fold and to the work they love.

"Bones" season 11 will premiere on Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
